5 star(s) - Excellent film

First class animation, entertaining story, lots of nice 'sci-fi movie' references (especially ET & Star Wars), good music and it's set in a 'alien' version of 1950's America - what's not to like. As a 40-something year old male I wasn't expecting much from this film but it really is very good and certainly not merely a 'kids' film (the various references to old movies and a few grown up jokes kept this relative oldie entertained). Perhaps it's not quite as 'cool' as Shrek! but in the privacy of my own front room (or the dark of the cinema!) who cares about that. If you are looking for a bit of escapism done in a style that would have been truly sci-fi when I was a kid (especially in Blu-Ray) then this is well worth a look.

5 star(s) - Planet 51 DVD

A really funny film. Well made, good CGI and characterisation. The moral is about treating others with respect and not making presumptions about others in a negative way.

A 'return to Planet 51' would be good.Planet 51 [DVD] [2009]

5 star(s) - Really enjoyed this!!

I really enjoyed this film. Some brilliant voices in it and a funny storyline. Looked really good in blu-ray as well!!

5 star(s) - Excellent fun film

A brilliant cartoon film. My 4 year old daugter loves it - so much so that the DVD player is working overtime! (Might have to get another one and a TV, too !!) ;-)

5 star(s) - Don't trust the critics

Rotten Tomatoes reported that 23% of critics gave the film positive reviews based on 97 reviews with an average score of 4.1/10... this just goes to prove that critics should not be trusted. I suspect some of them are simply racist. This film deserves a 7/10. It's a smart story and I laughed out loud about a half dozen times.
