- Great film, Excellent Message...
This film is great, and the blu ray transfer is pretty awesome. Fortunately it is region free so anyone on the planet can enjoy this film.
- Good Movie, Bad Print
Unfortunately this Blu-ray release tried to cram the movie, a Dolby True HD and DTS HD MA track onto a BD25 and the result is excessive banding in the image.

- somewhat deja vu
There's no doubt that 'Sky Blue' is a very impressive visual statement on blu ray. Loads of lovingly created detail in the futuristic cityscapes. Between the hectic action sequences there are some evocative dream-like sequences that linger in the mind; notably the motorcycle journeys across bleak landscapes that recur throughout the film. So, yes, on the visual side this is a major work worthy of your attention. Plotwise, however, you'll have seen it all before: impoverished and exploited underclass living on the margins wage war against the masters of the metropolis, plus a love triangle to add a little heartfelt emotional tension to the otherwise formulaic characterisation. The eco-message is well-intentioned but a bit flimsy. If you can overlook the obvious shortcomings in the plot there is much to marvel at.
